Our Club moves for the third time to the current building.

This, was a direct result of the first Female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher; Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven, LG, OM, DStJ, PC, FRS, Hon. FRSC. On a visit during her term of office as PM, she walked, (unplanned), into the local Constitutional Club, which was men only at that time. Nobody who was there, asked her to leave! As a result, the Constitution had to be changed and, later Legislation. This act, is a contributory factor, in her portrait, still hanging prominently in the Clubhouse to this day.
